Volumes have been said on this item, and the bickering and arguments about where the "hot" slot games are installed in the casino are still rampant – sixty yrs after the slot machines were 1st placed in gambling houses.

The standard rule is that the better one armed bandits were put just inside the main doorway of the casino; so that individuals passing by would see actual jackpot winners and be infatuated enough to come unto the gambling floor … play. Our leaning is that this is not so anymore.

The majority of the mega casinos these days are giant complexes … now you can’t see inside from the sidewalk, so there’s no longer a reason to situate the ‘loose’ slots close to any of the doors.

Another traditional rule is that loose slot games are put on the major aisles inside the casinos, again so that more potential players could see winning jackpots and be influenced to play. Importantly however, we find that this also is no longer a universal rule.

What casinos found over the years is that people walking down the busy aisles were frequently on the way to somewhere else. If they played slot games at all, they would simply put in their loose change because they happened to be walking by. Win or lose, they would very often not stop to keep playing.
